HDPE – Best material for Kids Pedal Boat

High density polyethylene (HDPE) is a hard product with a density of more than 0.941 g / cc cubic, obtained at low pressure. For the production of HDPE three technologies are used: suspension, solution and gas phase. This polyethylene has a low degree of branching of the molecules, which means that it has large intermolecular forces and tensile strength. HDPE is stiffer and simpler than LDPE, but less transparent. High density polyethylene is resistant to high temperatures, various oils and chemicals.

HDPE is an elastic lightweight material, capable of crystallization. The heat resistance of individual grades reaches 110 °C. Allows cooling to -80 °C. The glass transition temperature is about -20 °C. HDPE has a shiny surface.

HDPE does not pass moisture, is resistant to oils and fats, does not release toxic substances into the environment, it is safe for the human body. When working with it, no special precautions are required.
